Sam Hingston's Jellyfish Series #5
Sam shares the following about his latest fantastic sculpture, "The 5th piece in my jellyfish series is now complete. Relative to the others I have made, it is mid-sized standing at 42" tall. I designed this one a little differently than the others, using more hardwood ply for pattern and stainless steel, rather than copper, for the tentacles. I also oriented it at a bit of an angle in an attempt to give it more of a sense of motion."
Come by the gallery to see this stunning piece first hand. You won't be disappointed.
Broadway Street Festival - June 24
Mark your calendars now. The city of Beaverton and the Beaverton Downtown Association are planning a major event on Saturday, June 24 from 3 to 8 p.m. Broadway Street between Watson & Hall and Hall & East Street will be closed to traffic. Visitors will be treated to live music, food vendors, arts & crafts, a children's activity center, and more.
Art On Broadway will have a double booth in front of the gallery with demonstrations by some of our artists and a hands-on art activity for the enjoyment of guests who stop by our booth. Of course we will also have original art for sale by our outstanding 20 local artists.
In September, the gallery will celebrate seven years in business on SW Broadway. We are grateful for the support of our community, fellow business owners, and city leaders as we continue to provide a venue for fine art in Beaverton's historic downtown.
Be sure to add us to your list of "must-visit" shops during this special event!

"We're The Dessert"
A visitor came in today after having lunch next door at Gloria's Secret Cafe. Her name was Eileen and she made my day by sharing that she had lunch at Gloria's and came to Art On Broadway Gallery for dessert! How's that for a compliment.

May Artist Reception - A Big Hit
Helen Brown, Vivian Olsen, and Jacqueline Newbold represented the twelve High Desert Art League artists from Bend, Oregon at our May reception this past Saturday. The group's exhibit, "Dans le Jardin" will remain on display through May 27; still plenty of time to stop by and see these beautiful paintings.
We sold Jacqueline's painting, "Garden Delight," at the event to one very happy client. Congratulations Jacqueline!
Also being honored at the May reception was Angela Ridgway for her powerful show, "when darkness comes." Angela's work will remain on display through July 1; join us for her ArtTalk presentation on the second Saturday of June starting at 5 p.m. The presentation is free and
will include light refreshments.
