Roberta will demonstrate how she creates her elongated fiber clay figures on Sunday, September 1, at Art In The Pearl from 10 to 2 p.m. Look for her in the Pacific Northwest Sculptors tent. She will have a sign-up sheet for new classes she is offering. Roberta does an outstanding demo!
Linda Baker -
Linda is President of Painters Showcase, and is pleased to announce their event will take place this year at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club on September 27 and 28, 10 am to 8 pm. There is an Artists Reception nightly from 5-8 with appetizers, music, and drawings to win one of eight original artworks. This is always a wonderful event. Congratulations Linda!
Gretha Lindwood -
Gretha is one of 39 artists selected to participate at the Pacific Northwest Plein Air Competition and Exhibition in Hood River. The juror for this event is national recognized artist Becky Joy. Results from the 3 day paint-out will be exhibited at Columbia Arts in Hood River from September 6 thru September 29. Good luck Gretha!
Kris Paul -
Look for Kris at the Portland Japanese Garden on Sunday, September 8, as she demonstrates her process of working in clay. Later in the month, Kris travels to Japan where her ceramic sculpture "Obsidian" will be on display at the Odori Museum and the Asahikawa Design Gallery in Sapporo. Congratulations on this wonderful accomplishment!
Susan Schenk -
Susan has a very busy month of art activities. She will have flower collages on display at the Holistic Health Center on Allen in Beaverton from September 3 through October 1; "unconventional" collages in a show called "Oddities" at Lane Gallery, 25th and SE Clinton in Portland opening on September 6; and a collage display at Willamette Falls Hospital through October 8 courtesy of Clackamas County Arts Alliance. On September 21 from 2-5, Susan will teach "Collage A Butterfly" at Collage PDX on NE Alberta, and will conduct several classes at Art and Soul retreat in Portland on October 3 and 4.
Diana Unterspan -
Diana's fiber art piece, "Pupu Lips" is currently installed at Las Lagunas Gallery in Laguna Beach CA, and she will attend the Millinery Artists Guild Hat Camp on Vashon Island, Washington, the last weekend in September to refine her hat-making skills. Always growing, always learning!
