I just discovered yesterday that member artist Gretha Lindwood has another artist in her family - husband Walt Socha is a writer and has published two novels with Crossover Series. Gretha was visiting the gallery and somehow Walt's literary skills came up in the conversation. I've known Gretha a long time now and never knew this about Walt. In the last couple of years, this couple has traveled to various locations so Walt could do research for his books, "
Conflict" and "
Contact." I always thought they were traveling to discover imagery for Gretha's paintings.
Speaking of Gretha and painting, she will demonstrate her talent on the second Saturday of August starting at 5 p.m. It's exciting to watch her transform a blank sheet of sanded pastel painting into one of her beautiful landscapes. Seating at the gallery is limited. If you have a folding chair, you might want to bring it along.
You still have until August 26 to see Gretha's featured show, "Evocative Blues." The work is outstanding, and it's exciting to see so many of Gretha's pastels all in one place. How grateful we are to have this talent in our gallery!
