Guest artists this month submitted works in acrylic, embossed pewter, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, scratch board, and watercolor. The windows and doors they chose to depict in their art are as varied as the materials and styles they work in - a winter view from a home window; a man gathering eggs in a barn lit by morning sunlight; an archway in the ancient Russian city of Pskov; a door opening into a Spanish courtyard; a pattern of windows in the Koin Tower in Portland; an opening into an old Italian wine cellar; and the play of moonlight streaming through an open window.
Works by Norman Enzor, Olga Ivkin, Blaine Johnson, Stephen Kekule, Marianne Monson, Diana Nadal, George Schweser, Barb Sedgwick, Milt Wear, Nancy Wunn, and Russell Young are included in this exhibit.
"A Way In; Windows & Doors" opened yesterday and will continue through April 1. Drop by Tuesday through Saturday, 11 to 5 p.m., or join us on Saturday, March 11, 5:30 to 8 p.m., to meet and chat with the artists.
