AOB Welcomes Harold Walkup

We are thrilled to welcome Harold Walkup as our newest gallery member. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Northwest Watercolor Society and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies.

In 2015 Harold was living and painting in Valencia Spain where he demonstrated his work at the Valencia Watercolor Society and was invited to paint with professional artists at locations throughout Spain. One of his recent works was acquired by the Valencia Watercolor Society for their permanent collection.

He resumes teaching watermedia at Oregon Society of Artists on September 7. Classes are drop in and offered at $25/class; 9:30 to 12:30 each Wednesday. http://www.oregonsocietyofartists.com/

Please stop by the gallery and see some of Harold's paintings in person.

Sold Yesterday

It was such a pleasure to assist a kind gentleman from Portland in finding the perfect wedding gift for his friends. While picking it out, he happened upon another piece that he had to have for himself. Those things happen when you come to Art On Broadway Gallery - there is eye candy everywhere you look. Congratulations to Rae Campbell and Jim Scheller, and a sincere thank you to the gentleman from Portland.

Washington County Open Studios Tour

Once again the gallery will participate in the Washington County Open Studios tour on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is the 7th annual tour for Washington County artists.

Last Saturday Bert and I attended a planning meeting for the tour and picked up a supply of tour guides and bookmarks. The guides are free and were designed by Joyce Gabriel who is one of the artists on the tour. She created a beautiful guide which lists information and images on all 42 participating artists and five galleries, along with a map to assist visitors with locating studios. Guides are available now at the gallery; stop by and pick one up!

Five of our current artists will have their studios open for this event: Linda Baker, Gretha Lindwood, Pam Nichols, Virginia Parks, and Donna Sanson. We all hope you will visit us during this event so we can share our creative spaces with you.

Something To Think About...

Something To Think About

Success

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
