The member artists of Art On Broadway have invited member artists from Portland Plein Air & Studio Painters to enter a juried exhibit at our gallery for the month of November. The gallery will host a reception to honor the artists on Saturday, November 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Each PPASP artist had the opportunity to enter from one to three paintings; twenty artists accepted the challenge and will have their entries juried by the member artists from Art On Broadway. Most juried shows have one or two jurors selecting all the finalists. "Artist to Artist" offers a new selection process with each of our 18 member artists choosing only one painting to be in the show. Each of us has a personal opinion of art that's good or even great - and that excites us, moves us, inspires us, teaches us, lingers with us, or stimulates our senses. This show will reveal eighteen paintings that affected the members of Art On Broadway in such a way.
In addition, the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite entry among the finalists; at the show's close on November 26, the votes will be tallied and a People's Choice Award will be presented in the form of a Gift Certificate.
