"Fragments" by Peggy Harkins - Featured September Exhibit

Look for a fabulous featured show in the main gallery when "Fragments" opens up on September 2. Peggy Harkins will exhibit her beautifully crafted wooden art objects, all sculpted, carved, and painted by hand.

Peggy's creative life began with fabric, and fabric still plays a major role in the inspiration for the color and design patterns that cover the surfaces of her creations.  Whether the finished piece of art is a purse, a box, a tray, a mirror, a "rug," fabric designs from all over the world have influenced Peggy's choices for the surface of the wood that she carves. Her designs and shapes are sensitive to the history and aesthetics of different cultures and their appeal is universal.

"Fragments" opens on September 2 and continues through October 3. Please help us celebrate the talent and dedication of this highly talented artist at a reception on Saturday, September 12, from 6 to 9 p.m.  Let Peggy tell you about her process and the journey that brought her to this high level of quality artwork.
