A number of area artists turned in their one-of-a-kind painted umbrellas today for a fundraiser to benefit the Beaverton Downtown Association, a 501.c3 nonprofit. A few of the finished designs are shown below. The fundraiser is part of the Cultural Art & Tasting Walk sponsored by the BDA and the Beaverton Arts Commission scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. Each umbrella is signed by it's designer and is meant to be used as a piece of decorative art. Some umbrellas will be on display at Beaverton Kia showroom and Art On Broadway Gallery (and possibly some of the art walk host businesses) as the date of the event nears.
