Time for Open Studio Tours

Call your closest art-loving friends and plan to share a day - or two - going from artist studio to artist studio to experience the personal work spaces of artists in the greater Portland area. Both Portland Open Studios and Washington County Open Studios are scheduled for this coming weekend, October 21-22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 130 artists are involved.

AOB will be open both days, plus a number of our artists will be waiting to greet you and share their inspiration, process, and materials. Sam Hingston, Gretha Lindwood, Virginia Parks, Donna Sanson, and Carli Schultz will each welcome you into the space where their creative juices come alive. Each  works in a different medium so you can watch Sam crafting wood sculptures, Gretha painting pastel landscapes, Virginia creating whimsical encaustics, Donna playing with watercolor, and Carli creating magic with glass and metal.

WCOS catalogs are free and can be picked up at your nearby library or at Art On Broadway Gallery. A few might also be available from participating artists. PDXOS catalogs are $15 and can be purchased at New Seasons, Blick Art Supply, Bullseye Glass, and Portland Art Museum. Both publications include maps, directions, and imagery/info on the artists involved.
